Selection Sunday 2022

The 2021-22 college basketball season starts today, which means all fans are already looking forward to Selection Sunday 2022.

So, when is Selection Sunday 2022?

When Is Selection Sunday 2022?

Selection Sunday, when the men’s tournament bracket is released, is Sunday, March 13, 2022. The time and channel for the show are yet to be announced.

Unlike last season, which was heavily affected by the pandemic, the 2022 NCAA Tournament will be the first “normal” March since 2019, a welcomed sight to those who love the sport.

Four of the 68 teams the committee selects will meet at The Superdome in New Orleans on Saturday, April 2, with the winners playing for it all on Monday, April 4. The four regionals of the 2022 tournament will be held in San Antonio, Texas (AT&T Center), San Francisco (Chase Center), Chicago (United Center), and Philadelphia (Wells Fargo Center).

The eight cities that will host the first and second rounds are: Buffalo, New York; Indianapolis; Fort Worth, Texas; Portland, Oregon; Greenville, South Carolina; Milwaukee; Pittsburgh; San Diego. The 2022 Big Dance will tip off with the First Four in Dayton on Tuesday, March 15.

When Is Selection Monday 2022?

Selection Monday, when the women’s tournament bracket is released, is Monday, March 14, 2022. It will air on ESPN, though the time is still to be determined.

The women’s side was equally as affected by COVID-19, so the return to what we’ve always known March Madness to be means just the same. After the original 64 competitors are whittled down to four, the national semifinalists will converge on the Target Center in Minneapolis on Friday, April 1, with the two victors taking aim at one another in the national championship game on Sunday, April 3.

The four regionals for the 2022 Big Dance are set for Bridgeport, Connecticut (Webster Bank Arena); Greensboro, North Carolina (Greensboro Coliseum); Spokane, Washington (Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena); and Wichita, Kansas (Intrust Bank Arena). The tournament will tip off its first round on Friday, March 18.
