Weekly Watch Guide: May 27 – June 2

It’s the Weekly Watch Guide for May 27 through June 2, 2019. All the games to watch on tv and online.

NBN’S TOP PICKS

Here are the games we’re most excited for this week:

NBA – 1 Golden State at 2 Toronto, Games 1 and 2 (Thursday and Sunday at 9 p.m. and 8 p.m. on ABC)

It’s the NBA Finals, how could I only choose one game? Toronto has never been this close to a championship, and the Warriors are looking to become the first team to win three titles in a row since the Los Angeles Lakers from 2000-02. Golden State has now been in five-straight NBA Finals, but this is the first time the team is facing anyone but the Cleveland Cavaliers during its current run. It’s unclear if and when Kevin Durant and DeMarcus Cousins will rejoin their team on the court, but the Warriors have done plenty well without them. Kawhi Leonard is playing out of his mind, and he has tasted the heights of an NBA title from his Spurs days in 2014. He was The Finals MVP that year, and the Raptors will need a similar performance from him to have a chance to pull the upset for their first-ever championship.

WNBA – Seattle at Minnesota (Wednesday at 8 p.m. on CBSSN)

Last year’s champion versus 2017’s champion. These aren’t the same teams that won titles, with injuries and roster changes forcing some alterations. Even still, these are two of the most storied franchises in the WNBA, and you have to enjoy when they share a court. The Storm are without Breanna Stewart and Sue Bird, putting their teammates in a position to step up to fill those holes, and the Lynx have lost Maya Moore and have some other players up in the air for this game, also requesting her supporting cast produce more. How will it play out? Find out Wednesday.
