Weekly Watch Guide: April 29-May 5

Staring down the barrel of an all NBA week, again. We’ve got all the various games, every week, that you can watch online or on TV. We put it all in one place, every Monday, to make your life a little easier.

NBN’S TOP PICKS

Here are the games we’re most excited for this week:

NBA – 3 Portland at 2 Denver, Game 1 (Monday at 10:30 p.m. on TNT)

Denver needed seven games to dispatch of the Spurs and will have to deal with the quick turnaround, starting its second-round series two days after wrapping up round one. Portland hasn’t played since finishing off the Thunder in five games all the way back on Tuesday. Will there be some rust for the Blazers to shake off? Will there be a fatigue factor for the Nuggets to mitigate? We’re going to find out Monday.

NBA – 4 Boston at 1 Milwaukee, Game 2 (Tuesday at 8 p.m. on TNT)

It’s not worth freaking out over losing Game 1, which the Bucks did Sunday, 112-90. Milwaukee is the favorite in the East and has expectations to contend for a title. Going down 0-2, then having to play in Boston twice in a row would be an awfully difficult situation. On the other hand, the Celtics would be thrilled and in serious position to advance. Milwaukee isn’t in a must-win position yet, but heading to Boston tied 1-1 or down 0-2 is a massive difference.

NBA – 4 Houston at 1 Golden State, Game 2 (Tuesday at 10:30 p.m. on TNT)

Many people consider this series to be the de facto Western Conference Final. That remains to be seen, but the hype surrounding this matchup cannot be overstated, particularly with it being a rematch of the actual Western Conference Final from a season ago. The Warriors had some issues with the Clippers in the first round, and although Houston only allowed Utah five postseason games, they weren’t all cake walks. The storylines for this series write themselves, and it will be must-watch basketball through its entirety.
